LICENSE TO PUBLISH
1. License
All content published in JSES is protected by international copyright and intellectual property regulations. The journal applies the Creative Commons 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA) — or an equivalent license — as the standard framework for publishing, sharing, using, and reusing academic works.
This license allows individuals to copy, adapt, remix, transform, and produce derivative works, even for commercial purposes, provided that the original authors and JSES are appropriately credited, a link to the license is included, and any modifications are clearly identified. Any derivative works must be distributed under the same license terms as the original.
2. Author’s Warranties
The submitting author affirms that the manuscript is original, written by the listed author(s), unpublished elsewhere, free of unlawful statements, and does not infringe on the rights of others. The work’s copyright belongs exclusively to the author(s) and is free from any third-party claims. Any required permissions for reproducing materials from other sources have been obtained.
3. User Rights
Under the CC BY-SA license, both authors and users have the freedom to share (copy, distribute, and transmit) and modify the work for any purpose, including commercial use, so long as the license terms are respected.
- Retain copyright and any other proprietary rights associated with the article, including patent rights;
- Reuse the article’s content in future works such as lectures, books, or other publications;
- Produce copies for personal use, provided they are not sold;
- Self-archive the article.
4. Co-Authorship
If the article is co-authored, the submitting author confirms they have permission from all co-authors to sign the agreement on their behalf and agrees to inform them of the agreement’s terms.
5. Termination
This agreement may be ended by either the author or JSES with two months’ written notice if the other party commits a significant breach that is not corrected within one month after receiving written notice. Termination does not automatically cancel the license or affect rights previously granted.
6. Royalties
No royalties or other fees are owed to the author under this agreement. Where legally permissible, authors waive any right to collect royalties for uses of the article by JSES or its sublicensees.
7. Miscellaneous
JSES will publish the article once the editorial process is complete and the manuscript is formally accepted. The journal reserves the right to edit for grammar, style, and consistency. Articles will be publicly accessible and freely available. JSES may also sublicense the granted rights.
Copyright Transfer Statement
By submitting to JSES, authors agree that once the article is accepted, its copyright will be transferred to the Master’s Program in Environmental Science, Faculty of Engineering and Science, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jawa Timur, as the journal’s publisher.
